Bridal Skincare: Tips for Radiant Skin on Your Special Day

6 December 2024

How to have flawless skin on your wedding day

Our favorite season is here: wedding season! We just love to immerse ourselves in the world of ivory, lace, embellishments and rose petals. For you who are about to have your big day, first of all: congratulations! Secondly: take a deep breath… everything will go perfectly and we all know what happens when we are stressed: our skin is the first to suffer!

That’s why we wanted to give you some tips on how to have flawless skin on your wedding day!

1. Work on the inside first

Your face can often reveal what is going on inside! Depending on where your blemishes appear, they will tell you which organ or area needs help or care. For example, spots on the cheeks are related to the lungs and respiratory tract. Pimples on the forehead are related to the liver. In other words, that last cocktail on Saturday that pissed you off will come back to haunt you in the form of spots!

Use this to your advantage and make sure that everything you put into your body is also good for your skin! Cut down on drinking and smoking, eat more vegetables and multivitamins. You won’t necessarily notice a huge difference at first, but after three weeks, when you realize you’re particularly prone to blemishes, your skin will be clearer and more radiant!

2. Exercise

It may sound a bit cliché to say “you should start exercising before your wedding.” However, this tip has nothing to do with whether or not your wedding dress will work; we’re talking about how exercise can do wonders for your skin!

If you think about it, the more active you are, the more oxygen your body absorbs and delivers to your blood cells. This makes your skin look radiant, even plumper in some cases, and fine lines become less noticeable!

We’re not expecting you to become a crazy marathon runner, but with the plethora of videos on YouTube and Instagram, it’s never been easier to train in the comfort of your own home! 30 minutes a day will transform your skin and your attitude! So, let’s start planking!

3. A new addition to your skincare routine

It can be very tempting to try a product that you see everywhere claiming to deliver great results. However, the temptation may be a little too great and we won’t stop you. Our only advice is to try the product 6 weeks before the big day! This gives you enough time to test it out and if your skin doesn’t like it, there’s still enough time for it to completely calm down and regenerate.

4. Add a Facial

Given the previous point, changing up your skincare routine might not be the best idea in the world, but adding some pampering facials might be just what your skin is craving!

Depending on your budget etc, it’s recommended to book at least one custom facial before the big day (usually a few days before) to keep your skin looking incredibly radiant!

Your therapist can tailor a facial specifically for you and your skin, helping to restore balance and rejuvenate your skin. Not to mention how relaxing it is! Choose a therapist you’ve worked with before and feel comfortable with, so you can be sure the treatment will benefit your skin and won’t cause any adverse reactions!

5. Keep it Simple

If reading these tips has you thinking “I don’t even have a skincare routine” then maybe it’s time to add something to help your skin look its best. You don’t have to do it all at once, but keep it simple, like B. using an exfoliator or a mask.

Our Purifying Charcoal Detox Mask is a great treatment to remove all the toxins, impurities and pollution your skin has absorbed throughout the day! Since this mask works in just 10 minutes, it’s an easy addition to your beauty routine if you don’t have one but want to look radiant on your wedding day!

6. Beauty Sleep

We seem to talk about beauty sleep a lot, but it’s the kind we just don’t get enough of. Sleeping the way you do has the added bonus of helping to get rid of eye bags!

Yes, sleeping on your back can reduce the appearance of those pesky eye bags you have, as gravity prevents fluid and blood from flowing into your eye area. This means smaller bags and lighter dark circles.

Don’t believe us? Try it for yourself!

7. Find the Right Makeup Artist

Wedding makeup is big business and the sheer range of makeup artists to choose from can be overwhelming. Remember to take your time. There’s no need to rush to find a makeup artist and do as many samples as you can. Your bridal makeup will be something you’ll never forget. So, go find someone you trust who will understand your instructions perfectly.

8. Smile

This last tip might make some of you roll your eyes. But there is nothing worse than a grumpy bride! If you think about it, you spent a ton of money on your day and the photographer made you look a bit grumpy… so our final tip is: Smile, smile until your cheeks hurt! This alone will make you look flawless and simply stunning!

I hope these tips will help you as you prepare for your big day! All of us at Procoal wish you the best in the future!
