Introducing our Intensive Skin Defence Balm – your winter skin saviour
Winter is here and that means festive occasions, cosy nights in, mulled wine and perhaps too many mince pies, but with that comes sore lips, chapped hands, dry hands and eczema flare-ups!
That’s why today I wanted to give you more information about our latest launch at Procoal – Intensive Skin Defence Balm. This balm is designed for very dry skin and those prone to eczema, but there’s more to this multi-purpose balm than meets the eye. Let me show you what this wonder product can do for you and your skin this winter.
Why is this balm good for skin?
This balm was created to help those with very dry skin who are prone to eczema.
Winter can be especially tough for those with dry, eczema-prone skin. Between the cold temperatures and weather and central heating, skin can feel tight, dry, cracked and painful, and eczema flare-ups can cause great discomfort.
Enriched with natural oils and vegan ingredients, this balm soothes inflammation and redness, restoring the balance of the skin barrier. Dry, flaky areas are moisturized, leaving your skin feeling soft and radiant! That’s not the only use for this salve, because as mentioned above, it’s a multi-purpose salve that can treat a wide range of skin issues with ease. I’ll share that with you in more detail below. First, I wanted to dive into the ingredient list, aka the ink list, to explain why these oils were chosen to create this skin savior!
Rich in Natural Oils
Intensive Skin Protection contains many natural oils, all of which are packed with various skin-boosting properties.
Olea Europaea (Olive Oil) is sourced from the finest olives, naturally rich in Vitamins A and E, and contains powerful Hydroxytyrosol, an anti-inflammatory and free radical-fighting ingredient that helps soothe and restore the skin barrier for optimal health. The oil easily penetrates the skin, leaving it feeling super soft.
Safflower Oil (Safflower Oil) removes dirt and oil that can cause skin to become dry and rough, and contribute to skin issues like eczema, psoriasis, and blemishes. Its moisturizing properties keep skin hydrated, appearing plumper and more radiant, reducing wrinkles and restoring skin elasticity.
Extracted from cold-pressed hemp seeds, hemp oil is available as a green oil that can provide a variety of benefits to the skin whether applied topically or ingested. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, hemp oil is a strong anti-inflammatory, promotes skin growth and cell turnover, won’t clog pores, and balances the skin’s natural oil production.
Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla Wax) In addition to being the ingredient that makes this lip balm 100% vegan (since we don’t need to use beeswax), this wax is also a fast-absorbing lubricant and nourishing skin conditioner that helps reduce the signs of stretch marks and minimizes age spots and wrinkles.
Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu Oil) Honestly, this oil helps with everything. From wrinkles, rashes, eczema, yeast infections, cellulite, the list is endless. Containing a rich supply of healing and nourishing active ingredients extracted from the nut of the tamanu plant, this oil is considered one of the best oils in the world for skin, yet it’s still a little-known fact.
This powerful blend also contains a host of other ingredients, all formulated to make this balm powerful but not aggressive, as this defensive balm can be used on babies as young as six weeks old!
Other Uses for Strengthening Skin Defense Balm
Now that I’ve introduced you to the natural oils contained in the balm, you may now have a better idea of what the balm can do for you and your skin concerns. Here are some examples of how you can use the balm.
Dry Skin
Eczema Breakouts
Lip Balm
Nappy Rash
Dry Cuticles
Eyebrow Tamer
Frizz Hair Tamer
Stretch Marks

Impurities
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits of this balm and its ability to multitask!
How to Store Strengthening Skin Defense Balm
It’s best to store the balm in a cool, dark place. Keep it among your other products in a drawer and it’ll feel right at home! As mentioned before, the wax in the balm is candelilla wax. This means that not only is the formula vegan, but it also has a better melting temperature than beeswax. While this doesn’t necessarily mean you can leave your pot out in the sun, with the central heating firmly on, your balm will be smooth and still provide the best results for your skin.
