Patrick Bateman-Inspired Skincare Routine: Iconic, Intense, Surprisingly Effective

Procoal American Psycho Patrick Bateman Skincare Routine

I don’t know about you guys, but this scene still sticks in my mind and is one of the most iconic scenes from all the movies I’ve ever seen.

However, after watching Patrick Bateman’s obsessive skincare routine, I started thinking about my morning skincare routine and wondered if I should take inspiration from this movie.

That’s why we analyzed Patrick Bateman’s skincare quotes and created our own Procoal American Psycho skincare routine. Read through and try it for yourself.

“If my face is a little puffy in the morning, I put an ice pack on it while I do sit-ups. Now I can do 1000 sit-ups.”

This could be an insider tip if you suffer from morning puffiness. Alternatively, you can also simply put ice cubes on your face to boost blood circulation and make your skin more radiant.

Regularly applying ice cubes to your face in the morning (you can mix it with cucumber juice) can also help reduce annoying dark circles.

If you opt for a face ice pack, Boots Instant Pack or Accurate Manufacturing Face Ice Pack are both good choices.

“After removing the ice pack, I use a deep cleansing lotion.”

This is a little unusual, as Bateman applies the lotion before showering and then definitely washes it off right away.

This rule applies to all facial toners and lotions, so we’re not sure if he’s using it correctly.

But if you want a thorough cleanse (rather than applying lotion after showering), you should try Avene’s Ultra Gentle Cleansing Lotion.

“In the shower, I use a water-activated cleansing gel, followed by a honey almond body scrub and an exfoliating gel for my face.”

If you search “water-activated gel cleanser” on Google, the results you find are mostly quotes from movies or instructions for everyday skincare (similar to this post).

These hydrogel concentrates boost skin hydration and make it feel smoother. Options include Neutrogena Hydra-Refresher or Clinique’s popular formula for men.

He then uses a honey almond body scrub, which has a variety of benefits. Honey has antibacterial properties and is rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals.

It also helps open and unclog pores. Almonds are also known for their high antioxidant content. One of the most popular choices is the Body Shop Exfoliator.

Next, The Body Shop also provides you with the English Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub, which also opens the pores and removes excess oil from the surface of the skin.

Then, I apply the Herbal Mint Mask and leave it on for 10 minutes while I prepare for the rest of my daily care.

Most masks take about 10 minutes to work. Always follow the instructions. But remember that longer exposure time will not bring better results because it can dry out the skin.

At this point, I recommend our Activated Charcoal Mask because it is very effective in removing impurities and excess oil, making your skin more radiant.

After showering, your skin should be clean and the pores should be open so that the mask can work best.

I always use an aftershave that is alcohol-free or contains a small amount of alcohol because alcohol can dry out the face and make you look older.

In the past, aftershaves mainly contained alcohol, but now the trend is to move away from alcohol because “alcohol dries out the face.” Thanks for your contribution, Bateman!

Alcohol dries out the skin and can also irritate it. Alcohol was originally used to highlight its ability to kill skin bacteria. However, people can now do without these high-alcohol drinks.

For example, try “White Lotus” or “Sandalwood” lotions.

“Then come the moisturizer, then the anti-aging eye cream, and finally the moisturizing protective lotion.”

Towards the end of your skincare routine, it’s time to moisturize your skin.

You don’t necessarily have to use two lotions.

But you can add an extra layer of protection by making sure your moisturizer contains a high SPF to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays (of course, if you want to follow a strict regimen, you can also use a moisturizer with SPF separate from your main moisturizer).

Choosing the right moisturizer should be the easiest part of your skincare routine, but with so many options for every skin type, it can be hard to know where to start.

For oily skin, a light lotion is the right choice. However, for dry skin, a thicker version is the right choice.

If you apply lotion in the morning, a formula that is too thick may not be for you, as it will make your skin feel greasy after you go out.

Choose at least SPF 30 (as mentioned above), and the ingredients should be rich in antioxidants, such as green tea or liquorice root extract.

Pay attention to whether the cream also contains AHA or BHA for anti-aging effects.

The actual effectiveness of eye creams is hotly debated in the skincare industry. However, many believe that they have additional anti-aging benefits compared to simple moisturizers.

The thin layer of skin under the eyes thins over time as our body’s natural collagen production decreases. This is why our eyes often give away our age.

Since balms have a lower water content, they tend to work better than creams.

If you have a budget, you can try Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme+ or L’Occitane Immortelle Divine. However, there are cheaper alternatives.

Time Required

We tried it, but it’s not the fastest method. The whole process took more than an hour, but I’m sure you can speed it up if you repeat the process frequently.

Sure, I didn’t manage 1,000 sit-ups, but that doesn’t count as “skin care” so I decided to ignore that step for now.
